A few days ago I took my 512 K Mac to my dental office and discovered I would like to move my hard disk a little farther away from my Mac. All I needed was an extension cord with 19 pin connectors at both ends. I almost gave up after calling 849-HELP, Apple, some local dealers and an out of state number Apple gave me. Luckily a clerk at Al Lasher's in Berkeley mentioned a company with future plans to make DB 19 connectors. I called G C in Illinois at 815 968-9661 and found what sounds like the connectors I needed already being sold. One of their local dealers (Brill Electronics, 610 E 10th., Oakland Ca, 415 834-5888) has ordered the parts for me over the phone. I won't get them in hand before the newsletter goes to press, but they sound like what I want to make my own extension.
The female connector is part #43-125 for $5.61 and the male is part # 43-126 for $5.84. The price could drop fast if at least four of a kind are ordered. Ken was the salesperson on the phone at Brill Electronics.
